YEP for Schools

YEP designs a range of young entrepreneur and employability skills programs that engage young people at different ages and stages. The program has been developed based on focus groups and input from both employers, local business owners and young people. Each of our programs provides hands-on practical learning experiences that young people can embrace.

Program Content

Employers frequently tell us that the most challenging skill to find in their employees is the ability to think and work like a business owner, or as we call it, an entrepreneurial mindset. Many young people tell us they don't know how to start their career. YEP Careers bridges this gap to create positive outcomes for young people and employers.

Our programs bring together the strands that support young people to find a job or to start a business;

  • Developing the skills and capabilities of participants,

  • Offering mentorship from local businesses, and

  • Establishing the local employer networks of our participants.

By bringing these three elements together, we create real and sustainable employment opportunities for our participants. Empowering young people can have a lifelong impact.

Who Should Attend?

The schools program has been designed to meet the needs of young people from year 9 to 12. Young people will leave the program with the skills they need to create the pathway that they are passionate about.

The program impact(s) in a positive way on local skill shortages through the establishment of pathways for students to traineeships, apprenticeships and associated further education. In particular I believe it will address issues relating to the retention of students and the needs of indigenous and rural students.

Partner with us

We invite schools to join us in empowering their students by running our program with us or licensing our content and allowing their own career advisors to lead the program.

Our program has been successfully implemented in over 15 schools, and we are confident that it can make a positive impact on the lives of the students in your school as well.

Whether your students are looking for a full or part-time job, a side hustle or job to support themselves while studying, or a pathway to turn their passion into a career, our program can help them achieve their goals.
